Family Time Fishing Team enjoyed fishing the 6th Annual NC Troopers Association King Mackerel Tournament located in Morehead City, NC. We fished on Sunday in less than ideal conditions with a hard North West wind. It turned out to be an awesome day of fishing. We caught two King Mackerels in the 20 pound range and we were blessed with a very nice 32.20 pound king around lunch time that put us in 4th place overall in the tournament with a 2nd place in the juniors and 1st place win in the ladies. Even though I might be a little biased I have to say that I have the best fishing team out there and they did a great job. I am blessed to have my beautiful and wonderful Wife Kristen Hill as our Lady Angler and my talented Sons Stephen Hill and Talen Hill, our junior anglers. We would like to thank our sponsers for making it possible for us to fish these tournaments: Natural Service Group and Mr Tigger Tackle.
Things have settled down since the Hurricane and we are getting back to our great fall fishing. We only have a few dates left in October 24th, 25th, 30th, and 31st. Give me a call and lets go catch some Yellowfin, Blackfin, Mahi, and Wahoo.
Really cool picture one of my charter customers recently sent me from one of our recent Gulf Stream trips.
The fall fishing has been great this year with lots of Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Grouper and Trigger fish. We still have a few prime dates available in October and the fishing will continue into November. Give us a call to book your trips now if you want to get in on some of the best fishing we have all year.
Captain Justin Hill (336) 345-7369 We had a repeat of the action that we had yesterday on the King Mackerel. My guest wanted to catch them on light tackle, so we went after them with the flounder rods. I have to say that was really fun catching good size King Mackerel on 10 and 12 pound test with 4000 series reels. We kept two smaller ones for the dinner table. When we got back to the dock at Anchorage Marina I cleaned their catch for them. They had talked to the chef at Bistro By The Sea and he was going to cook it up fresh for them that night.
Capt. Justin Hill (336) 345-7369 If you like King Mackerel fishing and catching a lot of them you need to give us a call and book your trip. They are here and boy did they bring there appetite. Had a half day live bait trip today with a great group of guys. We caught fish the entire time we were out there. We kept some for the dinner table and released a lot of fish today.
Capt. Justin Hill (336) 345-7369 We had a great time fishing the Bone Sucking Sauce King Of the Cape King Mackerel tournament this weekend. We started looking for bait around Anchorage Marina and made a run over to Harkers Island to pick up some really nice size menhaden. Made the decision to head North to our favorite fall fishing spots. The fish were there and we were able to catch 3 Kings for the day with the largest weighing 29.98 pounds. It was good enough for 10th place in the tournament and 2nd place in our Class for the SKA. We had a great time and would like thank our Sponsors Natural Service Group and Mr Trigger Tackle.
Had a great group of guys from Greensboro out for a charter on Wednesday. Left Anchorage Marina at 5:45 and had a beautiful ride out. Put out the Big Nick Dinner Bells just short of the 90 ft drop. In no time we had a big Wahoo burning down the 50W. We put him in the box and made a couple more laps on our marks before putting out the meat. Worked out way out towards the Big Rock and started to pick up fish pretty steady once we were there. Caught the rest of the wahoo on everything but the shotgun rod. The wahoo were wanting them close to the boat. Picked up a couple Mahi and found a couple huge schools of Bonito at the Big Rock and was able to catch one casting to them. Final count for the day was 7 wahoo 2 Mahi Mahi and one Bonito.
We have some open days in October give us a call to book your trips. Captain Justin Hill Family Time Fishing Charters. Family Time had a great time fishing the Sneads Ferry KMT . We had no problem getting a fresh load of bait first thing in the morning and was off to our spot. After a couple of hours we had a nice Mahi Mahi come tight on a menhaden on one of our Mr Tigger tackle hand tied King Mackerel rigs. Before we could get it to the boat we had two more on. We got the big one in the boat and was able to land one more. We fished our spot for a little while longer before we decided to make a move and ended our day at the 1700 Rock. Tim Holder on the Sea Grass team had a king wrap around our down rigger line and we were able to help him save that fish. We made the run to Sneads Ferry to weigh the Mahi Mahi and we were lucky enough to win 1st place in the Mahi Mahi TWT. I'd like to give a shoutout to Mr Tigger Tacklefor providing us with all our live bait rigs. They are top notch! Now it is time to run some charters until the The Bone Suckin Sauce King of the Cape Open King Mackerel TournamentTournament. We have some days available in August and September give us a call.
